BookCon 2017 - My Round-up in Pictures

BookCon 2017 - My Round-up in Pictures

Underwest Donuts, NYC
I started my day with a pit stop at Underwest Donuts in NYC. Who knew donuts tucked into a carwash could be so amazing! The flavors speak for themselves, listen to this flavor assortment: Banana Milk, Maple Waffle, Brown Butter, Halva, Carwash (Vanilla-Lavender), & Jasmine Green Tea. And yes, they tasted as good as they look. Heavenly! Nothing like a sugar rush before a day of walking. Thank you Underwest Donuts!

Jacob Javits Center, NYC
I arrived at the Javits Center a little before 10 am, had my badge in hand, and headed to the line to wait for the doors to open. As a writer and avid reader, it's always a thrill to see crowds throng for an event that is all about books and the people who create them.
And I'm off, entering BookCon!

Lines are just a given for events like these.

Books, books, and more books - the whole point of BookCon.

And then there are the panels, autograph sessions, and opportunities to meet book-fans and writers all day long. Here are a few of my favorite moments.

Chelsea Clinton book signing
Look at all my fellow book nerds!
Couldn't have said it better.

Another Panel - Tim Federle and Ruby Karp
The amazing Sarah Dessen - not only did she meet and greet her fans, she signed books and gave-away roses and postcards to everyone who came to see her. How sweet! Here's my Sarah Dessen swag.

And a smiling-me posing with Sarah.

Can I just say this was one of my favorite author-visits of the event - Jennie Gilbert Ross. Here she is late on Sunday (I'm sure exhausted) but still smiling and signing and eager to meet readers.

The Wrong Side of the Blanket, by Jennie Gilbert Ross

Curious about her book pictured here, it's available on Amazon.

Panel: Adult Education with Ella Morton, Doug Harris, Olivia Koski, Theodore Gray, and Jana Grcevich
My Name is Stardust by Bailey & Douglas Harris
I love that my maiden name is also associated with such a big player in the book industry.

Me, doing what I love.

I saw this beauty and knew this was a book my husband would enjoy, so I got a copy signed for him. The Last Winter by Samwise Didier

AND HERE IS MY TABLE-OF-SWAG. Yep, I carried all this stuff throughout the day, and it was worth every second. Thank you @TheBookCon for another amazing event!

And for those of you who know me, you know that I'm always adding to my goat collection, and I found one more item to add to it. Here's my favorite find, Happy Little Goats by Soraya Hirth.

Happy reading!

Wow! That's a lot of swag to carry around!

Looks like it was an awesome event. It's a wing anytime there are people in lines to meet authors and buy books.

That goat book looks so cute. :)

It was, I had to keep moving the bag from arm to arm, but isn't that part of the fun? I'm not sure where BookCon will be next year, sometimes they move it around, but if you can go I'd recommend it.
